Captain Robert Henry Green SSVF and his dog Ludwig
After an initial burst of activity, I am now floundering a bit and wondered if you could give me a few pointers as to where to proceed next to find out more about Dads wartime whereabouts and hence, with any luck, be able to trace a few survivors' diaries for information about Ludwig. I located his liberation questionnaire at The NA, as directed, but annoyingly, Dad only filled in his name and address and left the rest blank.
I'm struggling to find information about 'V party' - I found the IWM rather fruitless, but perhaps I wasn't using their search tools correctly. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Debbie.
2nd Lt Maxwell Field Cameron FMSVF Field Survey Company
Max was working for the Federated Malay states as a surveyor. His task was mapping the country. We believe he lived/worked in various places including Johore,
Kota Bharu, Kuala Lumpur and possibly the Camaroon Highlands. He was there with his wife Marjory and their two children where born in Kota Bahru. Maxine (Mary) Cameron and Ian Field Cameron.
Max joined the Federated Malay States Volunteer Force. He was captured by the Japanese and spent some time in Changi before being sent to work on the Burma Railway where he died. Any further information about him welcome. Best regards Lynley.
Blacker/ Band family, Singapore
I am delighted to have come across your website. I am trying to find out dates and information of my fathers evacuation from Malaya during WW2. I know only that he sent a postcard from 1 pleasant st, Geelong Victoria to his own father in Changi Internment Camp No1. My fathers name was Anthony Stephen Jeremy Blacker and he would most likely have been travelling with his mother Louisa Margaret Blacker and aunt, Molly Band.
I would be so thrilled to receive any information you may have. Very best regards Rebeca.
Mr R.G. Bower, Johore Volunteer Engineers, FEPOW and Planter.
Faeiz in Malaysia is seeking information on R.G. Bower and our archivist is seekinga 1941ish photo of the Segamat section of the JVE of which R.G. Bower and Guy Hutchinson were the officers.
